Journeyperson Electrician – Solar PV Installer
Full Time; $32-$38/hr based on experience
Habitat Studio began an in-house Solar PV design and installation department in 2019, and have completed over 500 kW of solar PV installations since then. Job Description
● Execute the installation of solar PV modules, racking, inverters, and other associated equipment on residential homes
● Manage and delegate tasks for the installation crew
● Communicate with and receive tasks from Project Manager
● High attention to detail and high priority on quality workmanship
● Assist in the creation of Single Line Diagrams in AutoCAD
● Accurately interpret constructions drawings
● Residential service and panel upgrades
Qualifications
● 2+ years of Solar PV experience
● 3+ years as Journeyperson Electrician
● Solid knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code
● Residential electrical experience
● Passion for Solar energy
● Proficiency with various computer software programs
● Valid drivers license with clean driving record
● Ability to lift 50-75lbs
● Ability to work comfortably and safely at heights and on ladders
● Ability to work in all elements of outdoor work
● Fall Protection certificate
● Adhere to all safety regulations
● Mechanical aptitude and superior problem solving abilities
Preferred assets, but not required
● Willingness to work towards receiving Master Electrician certification
● Alternative Energy Technology Diploma

Job Description

● Gather and distribute material throughout work sites and in the warehouse, including up and down ladders
● Safely work with/around hand and power tools
● Ensure work sites are tidy and clean
● Assist Solar PV Designer with general office tasks
● Other general duties as assigned
